MIDWEST MINERALOGICAL AND LAPIDARY SOCIETY Dedicated to the purpose of 1) promoting interest in and to increase knowledge in the fields of mineralogy, geology and paleontology, including lapidary and related arts, 2) publishing articles and information pertaining to these fields, 3) encouraging collections and displaying specimens in these fields, and 4) arranging field trips in support of theinterests and activities specified. The Midwest Mineralogical and Lapidary Society (MMLS) is an educational non-profit organization founded in 1956 by a group of 28 people meeting at a local rock shop.  The Society now has more than 200 members and is affiliated with the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical Societies and the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies.
